Senior Competitive Program

Players Ages 18 and Up

Currently, the Toronto Leaside Wildcats have three Senior competitive teams (C, BB, AA), all of which are competing in an OWHA-sanctioned, non-traveling league (Golden Blades) out of Scotiabank Pond (Buckingham Arena, Downsview Park).

While the level of play is competitive, the format is that of house league in that all regular season games are played at the same arena on the same day (Friday night or Sunday) each week within the same time frame from September to March.

There are 24 regular season games that are played against teams from the GTA and surrounding area (Aurora, Barrie, Brampton, Mississauga, North York, Toronto). These teams can participate in OWHA-sanctioned tournaments and Provincials should they qualify.

This format of play is the perfect opportunity for post secondary school students and professionals alike to continue to play competitive hockey without the added challenges of excessive travel. Due to the busy schedules of most players within the league, the majority of teams don’t hold practices, which means the time commitment is typically once per week.
